Macallan’s grundlægger Alexander Reid, kendt som ”Den røde” har lagt navn til The Red Collection, som er det yperste Macallan præsterer indenfor whisky. Kollektionen på i alt 8 whisky indeholder de ældste whisky der nogensinde er frigivet og det i ekstemt limiterede udgaver.

Således er denne The Macallan Red Collection 40 Years Old den eneste der findes i hele Skandinavien.

TASTING:
Colour Antique Gold with a nose of orange and grapefruit combing with dark chocolate. Antique oak and wood spices with fig and poached pear. A palate of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon with vanilla. An effervescene with Malty notes and fig. Long finish with delicate wisps of woodsmoke. ABV 48,1%.

The Macallan Red Collection reflects our deep respect for time, tradition and craftsmanship. It is a celebration of the rich range of reds present naturally in The Macallan – in every step of the process.

The distinctive red colour weaves its way through our history, starting with the name of our  founder Alexander Reid – literally “The Red”, to The Macallan’s “Choice Old” range released over a century ago in 1903, through to Allan Shiach marking vintage bottles of The Macallan with a red ribbon in the 1980s.

At the heart of The Red Collection is The Macallan 40 Years Old, The Macllan 50 Years Old and The Macallan 60 Years Old. These remarkable single malts, which will anchor the range for years to come, are the oldes ongoing expressions we have ever released.

From time to time the will be joined by special high aged guest releases, which contain some og the oldest bottlings ever released in our history.
